Fierce Strength, Relentless Grace

Tropical Smoothie Recipe

My family and I LOVE smoothies. I pretty much eat a smoothie almost every day. The key with smoothies for us is to make it into a meal replacement. I don’t like feeling hungry an hour or two hours later.

Smoothies can be filling. The way I make them filling is by making sure it incorporates all of the macros I need for the day including: protein, carbs, and fat.

My smoothie recipe usually looks something like this:

  1. 1-2 Cups fruit
  2. 1-2 Tbsp Nut Butter or fat (like chia seeds)
  3. 1-2 Cups choice of milk (usually almond or water)
  4. Juice Plus+ Complete Protein Shake (which actually has 10+ veggies in it)

I use this basic “formula” for pretty much every smoothie I make. For tropical or citrus fruits I use a vanilla protein powder, and for berries I use a chocolate protein powder.

This summer I have been craving a tropical smoothie. Here is our favorite Tropical Smoothie Recipe. I usually do almond butter with this one and either coconut milk or water:

Tropical Smoothie Recipe:

1-2 Cups frozen Tropical fruit mix (I use Target’s good and gather tropical frozen fruit blend)

1-2 Tbsp Nut Butter

1 Cup milk of choice or water

1 Scoop Vanilla Complete by Juice Plus+

Combine them all in a blender, blend it till it’s your desired consistency and eat! If you want a thinner smoothie, then use more liquid. If you prefer a thick smoothie like me, then use less liquid.
